Clinicopathological Studies on Spontaneous Hymenolepis diminuta Infection in Wild and Laboratory Rats
Out of 78 adult laboratory and wild rats investigated for parasitic diseases, 19.23% were diagnosed positive for spontaneous Hymenolepis diminuta infection. Infection was more in laboratory rats (24%) than wild rats (10.71%). Sex wise distribution of H. diminuta infection was also higher male laboratory rats than females while wild rat females were found free from this tapeworm. Value of hemogl...
متن کاملThymus dependence of tapeworm (Hymenolepis diminuta) elimination from mice.
Although normal mice eliminated the lumen-dwelling intestinal cestode Hymenolepis diminuta by day 21 post-cysticercoid inoculation, congenitally thymus-deficient (nude) mice maintained their work burdens. Nude mice grafted with thymus glands or injected with thymus cells eliminated their worms.
متن کاملInfluence of trifluoperazine on tegument membranes in Hymenolepis diminuta.
Using immuno electron microscopy we have identified a number of calmodulin/calmodulin binding proteins distributed at various subcellular sites (Eastlake et al, 1994). Treatment of H. diminuta with trifluoperazine has potential cestocidal properties influencing both tegumental protein release, activity of calmodulindependent enzymes and the uptake of glucose (Branford White & Hipkiss, 1985; Hip...
متن کاملAnalysis of a child infected with Hymenolepis diminuta in Poland.
